Mutant Kauri cone discovered in New Plymouth

This cone was discovered in mid-March 1980 when seed collecting.

The tree was growing in the Vogeltown school grounds and is a sister

to the kauri trees planted in 1936 by Sir Victor Davies in each of the primary schools

in Taranaki.
