Lachenalia "Pearsonii" is a hybrid whose origins are unclear, but it is very common in New Zealand. It can be a strong grower up to 30cm (1 foot) tall, or even more in good conditions.

It has spotted foliage, and occaisionally it will set some seed and from these subtly different coloured variants will sometimes appear in established clumps.
