Pale through to dark violet-blue urn-shaped flowers. The inside of each tepal has a white bar. Anthers cream to pale yellow. Fragrant, Tepals: 4; 2.5-5cm long, 0.8-1.5cm wide, lanceolate, broadening towards tip, tip strongly recurved. Extremely exciting to work with, just love them.

Very vigorous, flowers in masses, small white 3cm hawthorn-like scented. (personaly I tink its elderberry blossom) this form has narrow bipinnate leathery leaves which make it look evergreen,but It's decidious! Will easily reach 4 metres in an season. Hard pruning ! (xC) Very nice when planted together w. C. viticella. Flowering time here December- February This type is seen growing in sand-dunes in Spain. . . . . . . This species has been blacklisted for import, but is now off the list & can be imported! In my 15 years of groving this species in NZ I have only found two related seedling, still we recommend Autumn Pruning to avoid seed-ripening! (Every year we find montana seedlings in abundance)
