This group all need hard pruning late winter (xC)
They are great for enhancing roses and any other shrub some good with conifers and most look good scrambling through the taller perennials (herbaceous) they are all summer and autumn flowering. Viticellas is extreme cold hardy and more wind tolerant than the large flowering, what more they are resistant to stem-wilt !
Viticellas tends to be weaker and spindly growing in the first year or two, thereafter they will grow very strong (when planted right) in general it takes a Clematis 3 years to establish.
